About

Hi! I'm Sophie.

I've always wanted to talk to other people about things I've seen on telly, things I've read in books and magazines, things I would like to see or read. As I discovered my love for writing, I realised that the best place to share these musings was on a blog of my own.

I had my first blog post published on the Coronation Street Blog. There, I have been a regular contributor for nearly four years, writing a mixture of cast interviews and my most inner thoughts about Gail Platt's love of olives. Writing on the Corrie blog has allowed me to connect with a whole host of Corrie fans, some who have become firm friends. Most of all, it gave me the confidence to throw my net further into the literary world.

My love for telling stories developed when I studied a BA degree in Journalism. During my first year, I got the opportunity of a lifetime to cover Harry and Meghan's Royal Wedding for the Windsor Express. I'll never forget the excitement I felt as I interviewed people from all over the world on the streets of Windsor. This was my first professional journo job, and I will treasure it forever.

Graduating in the dreaded summer of 2020, I soon discovered that my passion for story-telling didn't stop with real life, and I was intrigued to dip my toe into the world of fiction. As a result, I am now studying an MA degree in Professional Writing.

As a certified binge-watcher with a strong penchant for cosy slippers and funky earrings, I hope you enjoy reading my thoughts about what's been on the telly, or about any interesting books I've read of late. I look forward to chatting with you!
